Field Peas are very tasty wild peas.


The field peas are excellent in soups.

Like other legumes, you can cook the field peas with pasta, or as a side dish frying it with a little extra virgin olive oil, onions and carrots.


Field peas are very rich in proteins.

In particular, dry field peas have high contents of carbohydrates, phosphorus, potassium and very little fat.


Centuries ago, field peas were widespread throughout the Umbria-Marche Apennines.

Almost disappeared, the field peas have been rediscovered and their cultivation recently reintroduced.


Our field peas are organically grown in Valnerina Valley, Umbria region.


Field peas taste is similar to broad beans taste and it is great to cook pasta soups.

FIELD PEAS

A little family farm that produces cereals and legumes from organic agriculture in Valnerina Valley, Umbria region. One of the very few producing Monteleone di Spoleto PDO Spelt.


All organic legumes and cereals they grow are an important element of the Mediterranean diet and part of traditional Umbrian cuisine.


The field peas is an ancient legume and imported to Europe from the Middle East.


The field peas was used as food from the Paleolithic, now it is one of the typical products abandoned for the scarce crop yields.


In fact, today, the field peashas cultivated to a limited extent only in Umbria and Marche regions.
