ORGANIC GRASS PEA 500gr

The almost forgotten grass pea is a gluten free legume that is cultivated only in some parts of central Italy, in very small quantities.


It is an annual plant, grass pea (Latin name "Lathyrus sativus"), that resembles the common pea but with slightly larger seed pods and flatter seeds.


The Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry has awarded the Umbrian grass pea the denomination of Traditional Italian Food.

Grass pea is an ideal ingredient for tasty soups and side dishes.
